Weekly wrap up -- reaching the end of summer
Summer -- making new friends, treasuring old. In some ways I feel our summer weather never really came, and yet here we are almost at the end of our summer schedule. We had a couple days in the 90s back in June, but more often we have donned jackets rather than swimsuits. A rather unusual summer.
We have still managed to enjoy plenty of fun, and make lots of fresh memories.
Nathan turned four in June with the traditional hoopla of a Chuck E Cheese party. The girls made him a hat with a matching one for his teddy bear, he chose to wear the bear’s. In another week we will celebrate Paige's and Faith’s birthdays as well
We enjoyed some extra time with “man’s best friend,” including training and more training, and the benefits of training . . .
Spontaneous campfires, complete with hot dogs and marshmallows once it got going.Weaving cattail leaves into mats and other items to “sell” in our sandbox marketplace.
This week proved especially busy. Recently my husband was placed in the role of interim COO of the school we live at. A privilege, but lots of work, too, on top of his already full summer agenda with technology responsibilities. Blake and I have enjoyed helping him out a few hours here and there.
All in all, a summer of fun, and lots of school work accomplished as well. Even working a few hours a day leaves a lot of time to do nothing. Bike rides, time at the park, harvesting fresh vegetables in the garden, water fun (a couple times anyway), time spent together. Sigh . . . better really treasure these next couple week before we head back to full time school schedules.
