Homeschool Memoirs - Snack time!

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/hsbawards/Homeschool%20Memoirs/hm7.png

Homeschool Memoirs' task for this week asks us to list our favorite snacks. We aren't too creative in our house in this area, looking for something quick that will keep us trucking through our school until the next meal. Feel free to check out other snacker's ideas and to add your own as well!

I did already post our menu for the week which included our snacks. However, we do have quite a bit of variety in our snacking habits and any or all of the following will find their way into our snack time over the course of the week:

  • Fruit: apples, grapes, bananas, berries, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, melon, etc.
  • Fruit Kabobs (fruit salad on a stick)
  • Fruit leathers (rare treat!)
  • Vegetables: carrot sticks or celery mostly
  • Cheese
  • Nuts
  • Crackers (topped with PB & J)
  • Pretzels
  • Popcorn
  • Hardboiled eggs
  • Cereal
  • Toast
  • Left overs (pancake, oatmeal, etc.)
  • Yogurt with fruit, honey and flax seed
  • Annie's snacks (another rare treat!)
I think that covers most of what we find to snack on around our house. Looking forward to finding some new inspiration in others' ideas as well.

Those fruit kabobs look delicious. What a great idea. I can never think of cute, creative ways to offer healthy stuff. (Go grab a cheese stick if you're hungry) is the best i can do. LOL

We had fruit kabobs with our Valentines meal last year and the kiddos did love them. I should do that more often! Great list of snacks. :)

If nothing else, reading everyone's snack lists is helping convince me that there are plenty of healthy and quick options out there. We just need to be better at utilizing them!

I like the fruit kabobs idea. If I can ever get the kids to leave a little fruit alone, I may have to try that one!

This is interesting seeing others ideas.
I am finding items that we haven't had in a while. Time to revisit them.
We love crackers with PB or J
I don't think we've ever put both on the same cracker. Good thought

Blessings,
Michelle

California Rolls are also known as Hoso Maki, a type of sushi roll. We make ours with cucumber, avacado, imitation crab (white fish), rice, and wasabi.
